Joint Oral Statement of Ma’onah and Geneva International Centre for justice

Thank you Mr. President.

For the past two years, there has been persisting human rights violations and crimes against humanity illustrating the extreme genocidal attempt affecting all men, women and children across the occupied Palestinian territory.

Abuse, displacement, torture, and death inflicted on the civilian population, within a continuous and territorially pervasive climate of psychological terror. This is the dominant narrative emerging from the ground. The dehumanization of the Palestinian people increasingly takes place before the silent eyes of the international community. The journalists in Gaza are the only eyes of the world watching and reporting while being under threat every day.

This confirms once again the violations of the principles and bases of international law, international humanitarian law and the Geneva convention.

On behalf of EAFORD, Association Ma’onah and Geneva International Centre for Justice, we call for a scream when there’s silence. We call for words when most mouths remain shut. The obscuring crimes committed against the Palestinian people must not be a continuous practice, and censorship and retaliatory measures against those seeking to speak can no longer be tolerated.
